Confessions of a bookaholic

Since working at Waterstones (which I enjoy very much)my book and DVD collection has grown no end, totally helped by the FANTASTIC discount and being around books all the time I'm always spotting something I want to read. Always one for a bargain the first place I hunt is the oxfam bookshop. Luckily Huddersfield has a pretty ace one.

I have found some great books dirt cheap, and have been indulging in many guilty plesures I'm talking Jacquline Wilson and yes Katie Price. Always one for juicy gossip I found with all her biographys I just couldn't put them down! So for all thoses who turn their noses up (like myself in the past) you might just want to give these a try, you may be plesantly surprised...

These were all total bargains, I love hardbacks :) the Katie Price books were from oxfam £3.49 and £4.99 Candyfloss and the Starsigns book were £2.99 And Diamond girls just 99p! As a girl obsessed by the 60's era I decided after spotting the 70's fashion book to look into that to. £2.99 in the Waterstones sale.

Pleased with these I also managed to pick up some Lost boxset's complete season 1 and 2 for just £32!!

New design needed....

These are my origional baby card designs (sorry about the picture quality) I really like these they are mega cute :)

Problem is they take a LONG time to make. I need a scaled down version of these that are quick to produce, I hate to part with this design but it is neither time or cost effective to produce.

I have no idea how to recreate this and still make it into something I will be proud of and like so much! Wish me luck...

The Dress

So they say you know when you find THE dress. I know for me marriage is something way in the future but I found the dress before I even knew I someday would want to get married!

I was never a huge Home and Away fan I just watched the odd episode here and there. Tasha was one of the only characters I knew the name of and usually I would just watch it because I liked her. One episode I didn't want to miss was her wedding to Robbie. I didn't really know the background story I just thought they were cute together.

Anyway the day of the wedding came and I was AMAZED by her dress. I loved everything, the hair, the bare feet, and the dress! So so beautiful!! We are talking way way back I don't remember exacly but I know I was only in my early teens when this episode was aired and I fell in love with the dress. I still have never forgotten it!

How much does it cost to have a custom made dress? Im guessing it's not cheap but for this one I think it's worth it <3

New Leaf

Ok so after deciding I was going to really try and focus more on my business I thought about why it hadn't been working so far. I alwyas have ideas, its just when it comes to making things I let myself down.

I made some cards at the start of the year that I was really pleased with but was treating them all as individual art pieces and making then as cute and pretty as possible. I can't help it its in my nature, I have to over-do things I have trouble keeping things simple! I like busy things so was attatching as many beads/bows/sequins etc as possible, resulting in each card taking me over an hour to produce.

Hardly a good way to make money, even though I was truly proud of the cards I had made!

Anyway after all that reflecting I came up with some new designs (the one's shown are some of my faves) that hopefully still have the georgi charm, but are much quicker to create. I also personalise on request so any orders are always welcome!

Where my heads at...

Head in the clouds...

This was the view from my bedroom window when I lived in Birkby last year, I had a beautiful big bedroom with a gorgeous fireplace, and a window that let in lots of light.

Don't ask me why but I like taking pictures of the sky. I just for some reason love everything about it especially the stars <3
